CLAT Syllabus 2023-2024

The syllabus of CLAT is the core element in a candidate's preparation for the exam. It outlines the number and types of questions, format of the examination, marking scheme, test duration and other important details that help candidates make informed preparation decisions. The syllabus also outlines the subjects in which candidates need to prepare.

- English Language Section

The CLAT English Language section tests your comprehension skills and ability to understand complex sentences and concepts. It consists of comprehension passages, which are derived from contemporary or historically significant fiction and non-fiction writing. Each passage will be around 450 words in length and should take approximately 5-7 minutes to read.

- Legal Reasoning Section

The Legal Reasoning section focuses on the candidate's ability to identify and analyse arguments in various legal issues, public policy questions or moral philosophical enquiries. It will include reading and understanding a passage, as well as answering questions about the content of the passage.

- Logical Reasoning Section

The Logical Reasoning section of the CLAT 2023 exam is an important part of the exam and can significantly impact your score. It tests your ability to identify the reasoning in a given passage, its premises and conclusions, and how the reasoning can be applied to new situations.

- Current Affairs and General Knowledge Section

The general knowledge section of the CLAT 2023 exam is a dynamic one, which will include topics on history, polity, economy, and environment. It is an essential aspect of the exam and will assess your knowledge of current national and international issues that affect the lives of citizens across the globe.

- English Comprehension Section

The CLAT English Comprehension section is an essential aspect of the examination and requires a lot of practice to master the skill. The passages will be derived from contemporary or historical writing and should be easy to understand for students of 12th standard.
